Well, Danica ran wide and Tony spun. Andretti tried to avoid Kanaan but they touched and Marco went upside down. He's okay!

Hornish spins off into the tyres. I think it's the same corner in which a Penske flipped in 2000.

Scott Dixon makes it three in a row. Maybe not that much overtaking but surely a very interesting strategy race.

That was insane! We had a very exciting race till that moment. Something had to give and it sure did. Wheldon and Franchitti (the dominant factor early in the race) made contact, Daniel moving up into the rear of the AGR car. Dario was launched and did something out of a videogame, he came down into the cockpit of his main rival Scott Dixon. Other front runners like Scheckter and Hornish were also involved. Only seven cars are left in the race.

Most important however is that everyone is okay. As always Michigan put you on the edge of your seat, gasping for breath every lap. Luckily we once again escaped injury in this MAJOR crash.

Only 5 cars in the lead draft, but those last couple of laps were awesome. A shame that it will be the last open wheel race at Michigan for now.

TK won, second came AGR teammate Marco and third in line was Sharp. Patrick suffered some bad luck when her tyre went flat in the closing stages.

Tonight the championship battle will be decided at the Chicagoland Speedway.

Image

Code:
1. Dario Franchitti    587
2. Scott Dixon         584
3. Tony Kanaan         548
4. Dan Wheldon         449
5. Sam Hornish Jr.     427

The first three all have the possibility to grab the title. In this PDF file you can see where they need to finish to win it. Most likely you will be able to watch the race here. Else I will provide other coverage.

But before that is the IPS race. Alex Lloyd dominated this season and is already the champion. But that doesn't mean these guys won't go full throttle. Hideki Mutoh won't be driving as he will make his IRL debut later today. Last year was one helluva race and I don't expect any less. If there's one open wheel race to watch this year it will be this one. This race will start in two hours, at 12:30PM (EDT) and 7:30PM (CET). You can watch it here.

The IPS race is actually starting one hour earlier. The other stream I posted is not working so watch it via the IPS website. Works best with IE.

Wade Cunningham just flipped, after about 5 laps of green flag racing. That was the longest green flag run we had. Sadly it has been absolutely carnage. But these guys can run clean, last year there was only one major crash and the rest was just good racing.

Logan Gomez wins his first race, Alex Lloyd comes 0.0005 behind. Most likely the closest finish in IRL en IPS history.
