The Milwaukee race has just started. I think we´ll see another Ganassi and Penske fight. But don´t count out TK.

Buddy Rice gambled by staying out. however it didn´t play out like he wanted. He can probably forget about a good finish today, unless the others will put under green too.

Scary moment there. When going three wide Wheldon ran into Patrick. Danica got sideways but amazingly saved it. Her steering is messed up though.

Rice was back on the lead lap for some laps now but just went into the wall. A shame to end the day like that.

The leader has a rear wing failure and crashes. Helio is out of the race, what a tough break for him. The race is now pretty much wide open. Some guys can come in for a stop, since they have nothing to lose. And Kanaan and Hornish seemed to be pretty evenly matched. With Sam being good just after the restarts and Tony becoming better later in the run.

Tony Kanaan wins and Dario Franchitti comes in second.

However the story of the day is Penske´s rear wings. Sam had the same problem as Castroneves and had to come in with his bend rear wing.

If anyone gives a shit, Danica's hissyfit was the top story from some of the local stations.

That or, the streets of Milwaukee were *actually* safe </sarcasm>

Lol, the media was saying it was almost a fight but this is nothing more than an angry talk. I love the reaction of Daniel when Danica jumps him from behind.

Promoters seem to be happy with the situation. Only in America. :P

I posted this at The Fastlane. Yeah, they're kinda struggling. Considering CART used to run circles around NASCAR in ratings (no pun...)

Jayski's wrote:
Charlotte TV Ratings down, but beat the Indy 500: Fox's broadcast of Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Nextel Cup race from Lowe's Motor Speedway earned a final Nielsen Media Research rating of 4.5 and a 10 market share, Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Daily reports. The rating is 11.8% lower than the 5.1/11 the race earned last year. The NASCAR race, however, again outdrew ABC's coverage of Sunday's Indianpolis 500, which earned a 4.3. ABC's ratings for the IndyCar event were down 15.7% from a 5.1 last year, the Daily reported. The open-wheel Indy race had earned a 4.6 overnight rating, edging the 4.5 the Cup race drew overnight in the nation's largest markets.(SceneDaily.com).(5-31-2007)

IRL hasn´t been able to beat NASCAR for quite some time now, so that really isn´t a surprise. However I do think people are getting their interest back in the 500 and that it will continue to grow again.

Here´s a funny picture from Texas.

What a crazy race at Iowa so far. On lap one Wheldon spun out and got collected by Scheckter. Then under green the leader, Helio, went around coming out of the pits. Just after the restart it was TK´s turn to spin out, Simmons wasn´t able to avoid it.

Then we reach the situation we have now. At the restart Danica gets squeezed and nobody lifts, creating a big crash. A lot of cars are out, like Hornish, Patrick, Carpenter, Matsuura, Foyt. Oh yeah, I forgot about pole sitter Dixon, who went out with a steering problem. Both Ganassi cars however are back on track, many laps behind.

Only 35 laps to go. All drivers will have to pit, its Dario leading Marco. How many times have you seen Marco on an oval this year. :P

What a fantastic race. A late race caution bunched them all up again. After 20 laps of racing it was Dario beating AGR teammate Marco.

Bad luck for Meira (with a collapsed suspension) and Carpenter (who ran out of fuel).

They're underway at Mid Ohio. Danice goes wide and Marco FLIPS! I think he made contact with Kanaan.
